Ashtanga Yoga Fundamentals
Get acquainted with this dynamic practice as Holly leads you through the fundamentals of Ashtanga Yoga, including the surya namaskaras, standing postures, back bends, and finishing sequence, as well as Ashtanga's famous transitions, all while following the traditional "correct" Sanskrit vinyasa count. Explanations and modifications of asanas will be given as needed along the way. Ashtanga, rooted in South India, is the basis of modern day power, vinyasa, and flow based yoga classes. Come see where it all started! Please have at least 6 months of vinyasa based yoga experience before attending. Be prepared to work, sweat, and laugh!
